| A full-bodied, vintage champagne made from 50% Pinot Noir, 34% Chardonnay and 16% vin Rouge de Champagne. 2000 was a testing growing season: a mild winter was succeeded by a chilly, wet summer with hail and thunderstorms devastating vineyards right up to the eve of harvest. The return of good weather at this critical point, however, produced abundant bunches of quality grapes. 15% still Pinot Noir from the village of Chouilly is added to the final blend before the second fermentation starts to give it its characteristic colour. |
