Champagne Pol Roger is delighted to announce that it has signed a partnership agreement to become the Official Champagne Supplier of the Event Rider Masters (ERM). This move strengthens the Champagne house’s sponsorship portfolio in the equestrian world, as they continue to support Pol Roger Ambassadors and Equestrian Team GBR members Harry Meade and Laura Collett, as well as being the Official Champagne of The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park and Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials.
The Event Rider Masters is a new exciting CIC*** series with record prize money and the aim to showcase the sport of Eventing to global audiences. In 2017, the seven legs of the competition incorporate iconic British and European events where riders will battle it out for the coveted Event Rider Masters title and a £30,000 series first prize.
The fifth leg takes place at the spectacular home of HRH The Princess Royal, Gatcombe Park, for The Festival of British Eventing, from 4-7th August. 2017 marks the second year of Champagne Pol Roger’s partnership with The Festival of British Eventing, and thus this will be a highlight of the Champagne house’s summer season, at the confluence of two of their key sponsorships, Eventing’s National Championships and the Event Rider Masters.
Paul Graham, Director of Business Development Pol Roger UK says of the partnership “Champagne Pol Roger is delighted to be associated with the Event Rider Master series for 2017 and it further strengthens our commitment to the sport of Eventing in the UK. The ERM series proved hugely popular with competitors and spectators alike in 2016, we look forward to an exciting season in 2017.”
On the tie up with Pol Roger, Jon Wyatt, ERM Commercial Director commented “It’s fantastic that our winning riders will be able to celebrate their success with Pol Roger champagne on the podium. With such an established association and tradition within Eventing, Pol Roger are the perfect champagne for ERM and our riders to be associated with, as we grow our premium Eventing series into new international markets”.
Champagne Pol Roger has been producing exceptional champagne for over 165 years and has long been a favourite among British connoisseurs. To this day the house remains small, family-owned, fiercely independent and unrivalled in its reputation for quality. Indeed, it is this quality which brought about Sir Winston Churchill’s lifelong attachment to Pol Roger, who famously insisted “In defeat I need it, in victory I deserve it”, a fitting adage for the Event Riders Masters series (#ERMeventing).
