2015 marks ten years since Kilchoman first opened its doors and began producing Single Malt Whisky on Islay. Throughout 2015 Kilchoman have hosted a series of events culminating in a 10th Anniversary Tour of the UK.
Departing Islay on 2nd November in the Kilchoman branded Land Rover Defender , Anthony Wills’ sons, George, James and Peter, will be embarking on a tour across the UK sampling all the latest releases from the Distillery.
A limited edition cask strength Machir Bay is being bottled exclusively for the tour; each bottle is individually numbered and will only be available at the destinations visited as part of the tour.
Anthony Wills, Founder and Managing Director of Kilchoman, said: “The tour is a great way to get out and visit fans of Kilchoman across the UK, which is our biggest market, and hopefully to create some new ones as well. So many make the effort to come and visit the distillery on Islay, it is nice to be able to repay the favour”.
Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland and was the first distillery to be built on Islay for 125 years. As well as being one of only a handful of distilleries still practicing floor malting, barley is also grown on the farm, making Kilchoman the only Scotch whisky distillery to complete all parts of the whisky making process on site.
