The Flat is beginning to have an end of term feel now. As last week there were relatively few runners for Kremlin Cottage but the week still yielded 4 winners.

The week started well with White Mocha winning the Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes at Newbury. Although the margin of victory was only a nose, there was the clear impression that there was more to come given the way he travelled through the race and quickened into the lead. Dr Alui Ridha, the owner, has much to look forward to.

Honourable mention must be given to Architecture even though she was fourth as this was her first race in nearly a year and she was beaten only a length in the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Legacy Stakes also at Newbury.

Kempton on Wednesday evening saw Josephine Gordon cruise to victory on Corrosive who put his previous experience to good use on only his second start. Exprompt narrowly failed to make it a double for Mr V.I.Araci in the following race. The night finished off with a win for Banish for the Highclere team.

Looking to the week ahead, there is an entry for the exciting colt The Revenant on Sunday at Epsom and for White Rosa in a Listed Race in Germany, also on Sunday.
