Another very quiet week for Kremlin Cottage with only a handful of runners. However Dukhan, a 2 year old Teofilio colt owned by Al Shaqab, put another win on the board for the team winning at Chelmsford on his third start. This takes the total of winners to 66 for the season with a further 99 placed horses.
There are a number of entries over the next few days, chief amongst them must be Home of the Brave, surely an appropriate name for a runner in the Breeders’ Cup at Del Mar! Although he is currently quoted at 20-1, this ultra game performer should run well in the Breeders’ Cup Mile and his front-running style should be suited to the tight bends of this course – as long as can get across from his draw in stall 9.
Tuesday next week sees the running of the Melbourne Cup, “the race that stops the nation”, and we are pleased to relate that Wall of Fire has got into the race with a good weight of 8st 5lb. As always this is a fiercely competitive race but it is a handicap so, in theory at least, everyone has the same chance and he is currently trading at around 14-1, well to the fore in the market.
