Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt has released a much anticipated 50 Year Old. Only 146 bottles are available to the UK market, exclusively distributed by Pol Roger Portfolio.
Glenfarclas distillery, nestled in the heart of Speyside, has been in the family ownership of the Grants of Glenfarclas since 1865, now under the direction of 5th and 6th generations, John and George Grant.
This whisky started life on the slopes of the Speyside mountain Ben Rinnes, where the spring water, which ensures the distinct flavour of Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt Whisky, bubbled up, crystal clear, from the underlying granite, to supply the distillery below.
Combined with the best malted barley, twice distilled in a traditional, direct fired, copper pot still and filled into the finest Spanish Sherry oak casks in which to lie maturing over 50 years in their famously cool dunnage warehouses.
Bottled at the natural cask strength of 40.6% ABV and natural colour, this Single Malt is a rare taste of history.
Befitting of a whisky of such rarity, the Single Malt has been bottled in a crystal decanter created by Glencairn Crystal, hand decorated in copper with a heavy copper stopper.
The decanter sits within a red mahogany piano-finished gift box, reflecting the autumnal hues of Speyside.
