There are just 50 days to go until The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire (5-7 August 2016). Whilst 2016 marks the event’s 34th year, this year is the first time that Champagne Pol Roger has been the Official Champagne.

2016 will be quite a year for The Festival with the return of the popular Advanced class and The Festival will be hosting the fourth leg of the much talked about Event Rider Masters, which will be incorporated in The British Open Championship.

The three days of competition will see four Championship competitions taking place – The British Open Championship incorporating the Event Rider Masters, The Smith & Williamson British Intermediate Championship, The Dodson & Horrell British Novice Championship plus The TopSpec Challenge for The Corinthian Cup, a National Restricted Novice Championship.

Tim Henson, Event Director commented “Final preparations are going well and the competition is set to be fierce.  The Festival is a wonderful event that provides an intimate setting in the rolling Cotswolds that is perfect for spectators to enjoy a fun filled day out.  We look forward to welcoming everyone to The Festival this year for what should be a superb Olympic celebration.”

As well as the thrilling eventing competition, The Festival hosts The Pony Club Inter-Branch Team Showjumping, a selection of Retraining of Racehorses (ROR) showing classes, The Dubarry Burghley Young Event Horse Series, a Dressage to Music display and the very popular Shetland Pony Grand National and, this year for the first time the main area will see the spectacular Devils Horsemen Cossacks performing – something not to be missed.
