For the 6th consecutive year Hine is proud to sponsor a Painting Prize at the Royal College of Art Graduate Exhibition, arguably the most influential university of art and design.

Previous winners include David Viscardi, Mathis Gasser, Lian Zhang, Roy Immanuel and Ragna Bley, all of whom have gone on to launch extremely exciting careers in the arts. This year, the work was as distinguished and thought-provoking as we have come to expect, the outcome of a two year programme and a lot of hard work.

We were delighted to be joined by Edouard Guerrand, owner of Hine Vintage Cognacs, and Per Even Allaire, Sales Director, for the selection process. Both Edouard and Per Even are an avid followers and collectors of the arts and therefore relished the opportunity to visit the exhibition and consider which work deserved the title of the Hine Painting Prize 2016.

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2016 prize is David Schroeter and his work, Stone Circle which is soon to become a wonderful addition to Hine’s art collection.

Schroeter earned his BS at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY in 2010 and his MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, London in 2016.
