The new week started in great style with a treble on Bank Holiday Monday.
The day kicked off with victory by the narrowest of margins by Expensive Liaison who showed great determination to hold on under Ben Curtis.
On to Windsor where both divisions of the Novice Stakes fell to inmates of Kremlin Cottage. First up was Employer who, although drifting left and running green, always appearing to be just holding the runner up. The second division went to Silver Quartz, a grey son of Frankel, who was a smooth winner ridden, as was Employer, by James Doyle.
Three winners from three runners was the perfect start to the week.
The stable had 2 runners on Tuesday at Thirsk and they produced another winner as Mystic Meg blazed off in front and held on well for the Duke of Roxburghe. Although he didn’t win Caliburn ran with conspicuous promise in finishing fast in third in what looked a hot Novice Stakes.
The rest of the week was quiet and now we look forward to Friday and then a busy weekend with a lot of entries including the possible return of the exciting Unforgetable Filly at either Lingfield or Haydock on Saturday.
