Champagne Pol Roger is delighted to announce that it will return to Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials 2019 for the 5th year, as the official champagne of the prestigious event. This year the champagne house has redoubled its investment in the 5* event, which represents one third of the Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing, and for the first time, will sponsor a jump on the legendary Cross-Country Course.
A now much-loved fixture, the Champagne Pol Roger Lodge will return to Burghley, offering the best Eventing viewing experience. Perfectly located at the edge of the Collecting Ring, the Lodge is the ultimate environment in which to unwind and enjoy a glass of champagne; an oasis from the adrenaline-filled Cross-Country course and fantastic shopping opportunities.
Beyond Champagne Pol Roger, the lodge will also be serving a delicious Chablis and Beaujolais from outstanding Burgundian producer, Maison Joseph Drouhin, IGO Rosé in a can, the perfect accompaniment to a cross-country picnic and Hecht & Bannier Provencal Rosé in bottle, magnum and jeroboam, catering for the thirstiest of spectators.
Guests at the lodge will not have to miss a moment of the action; live coverage of the day’s eventing will be televised from the tent.
Champagne Pol Roger has been producing exceptional champagne for over 165 years. To this day the house remains small, family-owned, fiercely independent and unrivalled in its reputation for quality. Indeed, it is this quality which brought about Sir Winston Churchill’s lifelong attachment to Pol Roger, who famously insisted “In defeat I need it, in victory I deserve it”.
