In celebration of the Glorious 12th, the last remaining Glenfarclas Whisky Rifle and Shotgun Cleaning Kits have been released.
Glenfarclas Whisky and William & Son, Gun & Rifle Makers, joined forces to create a bespoke Rifle and Shotgun Cleaning Kit to include a rare bottle of Glenfarclas 1963 Family Cask.
Only 20 limited edition hand-crafted cleaning kits were made, and just 3 remain. Each kit has a special circular brass plate upon which William & Son will engrave the initials of the recipient; the plate can be engraved once more as and when the kit is passed on to the next generation.
Since 1836 the Glenfarclas Distillery has been handed down through six generations of the Grant family; the distillery has remained single-mindedly independent in ownership and outlook. The Grant family remain committed to the vision of creating the best quality Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, in the traditional Speyside style.
As traditional family companies, the importance of honouring ones heritage and passing down to the next generation has always been paramount. This unique Glenfarclas 1963 Family Cask and William & Son Rifle & Shotgun Cleaning Kit encapsulates this spirit; a precious keepsake which will be cherished for generations to come.
The Rifle and Shotgun Cleaning Kits have been handmade by British artisans in-house at William & Son and boast sterling silver cups, the finest cleaning rods, brushes with wooden handles, brass hardware and bridle-hide leather holders, as well as the distinctive circular brass plate, perfect for engraving initials.
This unique 1963 Glenfarclas is the contents of a single Spanish oak sherry hogshead cask bottled unfiltered at 46.5%, natural cask strength. A rich sherried nose develops to reveal lovely crème brulée and toffee notes, followed by vanilla sweetness.
George Grant, Director of Sales, 6th generation of the Grant family commented: “I inherited a love of shooting from my grandfather and know how important it is to care for your guns. Whisky also requires care and nurturing to truly shine. The whisky that I have selected for this unique gift was distilled by my grandfather and I am proud to share it with you.”
