On a beautiful summer’s day, we visited Bath Rugby Club’s dedicated, elite training facility, Farleigh House, a spectacular Gothic Revival style house, set in immaculate grounds. Over the years the house has served as a place of residence, a school and college, office space and finally, on 14th April 2010, it was announced that it would become Bath Rugby training headquarters. The players, coaches, medics and analysts now work alongside the administration staff, the dedicated team of estate workers, gardeners, builders, and stone masons and the excellent chef, kitchen staff and housekeepers in one home. It was evident from our visit that Farleigh House operates as one diverse team, working together to achieve excellence, both on and off the pitch.
As the Official Champagne of Bath Rugby, we were delighted to have the chance to meet the 1st XV, ahead of their first home game of the season, on 10th September, against Newcastle Falcons. ‘Polly’ the Champagne Pol Roger Land Rover Defender will make her virgin voyage to the Rec for this game and we look forward to raising a toast to the 2016/17 season with a glass of Pol Roger Brut Reserve!
