Glenfarclas Distillery was recognised as the ‘Distiller of the Year 2019’ at the Icons of Whisky Awards, by Whisky Magazine.
The accolades did not stop there, with Glenfarclas Distillery’s Distillery Manager, Callum Fraser came away with ‘Distillery Manager of the Year 2019’.
Callum started his life in the whisky world at Deanston Distillery on 1st October 1990 as a “Mashman” – he then worked through the different production stages throughout the years to become a distillery manager in 2007, where he worked until 2012.
Joining Glenfarclas as Distillery Manager on 2nd December 2012, Callum was responsible for all new spirit production and mature bottlings. Callum oversaw the biggest two years of production at the Distillery, 3 million litres of whisky were produced in 2013 and 2014.
Callum champions the long held Glenfarclas belief in traditional methods of whisky production, which ties in with the Grant family ethos. The awards are a testament to the team at Glenfarclas.
The Icons of Whisky Awards are to recognise the people, places and products that complete the whole dynamic of the whisky industry.
