At the half-way point of the Royal Meeting at Ascot, the report is one of a string of placed horses.
Mina Vagante, Arbalet, and Incinerator were all placed as were Hot Touch and Gold Fleece. The former went down by a fast shrinking neck having found trouble in running whilst the latter kept on well to also finish second under Graham Lee.
The run of places was broken however when Ironclad continued his progress, winning at Beverley for Jack Mitchell. This is a beautifully bred and really good looking son of Dubawi. Now he is beginning to live up to his undoubted promise.
So far there has been no joy for Kremlin Cottage at Ascot this week though there have only been two runners (Coase and Hot Team). Friday sees Collide go for the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes and on Saturday stable stalwart Gifted Master runs in the Wokingham.
Statistics for the season so far show 18 winners and a frustrating 35 placed horses.
