Once again the week got off to the perfect start with an apparently unexpected victory for Morning Beauty at Haydock. She made great progress from her seasonal debut to win at 66-1 under Josephine Gordon who is riding a lot of winners for the stable at the moment.

Seconds for Burford Brown and Morning Skye were followed by a fairly comfortable victory for Breaking Records under James Doyle.

Wednesday, a busy day with six runners at four different courses, saw an easy win for Caliburnas favourite at 11-10. James Doyle was again the successful jockey. Three more winners for the total.

Now all roads lead to Ascot for the Royal Meeting. There are plenty of entries for Kremlin Cottage and we look forward with eager anticipation. Let us hope for some winners – always difficult to find as every race is super competitive. It is hard to be confident of anything as a result but Unforgetable Filly in the Duke of Cambridge Stakes on Wednesday looks to have an each way chance and stable stalwart Gifted Master nearly always gives his running. He is doubly entered but the Diamond Jubilee seems likely to suit best.

As always the handicaps will have huge fields but there are several each way chances for the stable. The draw often seems to play a part and at this stage we do not know where the stable’s representatives will be situated, nor indeed which side will be favoured this year.
