Three Day Eventing
Pol Roger is proud to support professional event rider, Laura Collett, whose riding career thus far has been nothing short of extraordinary. Laura enjoyed an astronomical rise to success and was on course to continue when, in 2013, she had a devastating fall which left her in a coma for a week with a fractured shoulder, punctured lung, lacerated liver, two broken ribs and permanent loss of vision in one eye. However Laura has made a remarkable recovery and has returned to eventing, displaying an unswerving commitment to the sport and impressive determination and bravery.
Furthermore Pol Roger is delighted to support Harry Meade, one of Britain’s leading event riders. Having recently returned from what many feared would be a career-ending fall in which he shattered both elbows, Harry’s fairy-tale comeback saw him defy medical odds and return to the sport, immediately taking 3rd place at the world’s premiere event, Badminton Horse Trials 2014. Harry is currently a member of the GB Nations Cup team and reserve rider for this year’s GB World Championship team, he has also been selected on to the Lottery-funded World Class Squad for the sixth consecutive year. Harry is considered one of the world’s best cross-country riders and is widely respected for his quiet and sympathetic style of riding.
Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials
Champagne Pol Roger is delighted to be the Official Champagne of the multi-award winning Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, which has been established as a major international equestrian and social event in the autumn sporting calendar for over 50 years. The annual, televised three-day event takes place in the picturesque parkland of Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire. The prestigious occasion, one of only six CCI four star competitions in the world, kicks off with two days of dressage (Thursday and Friday) when the most talented horse and rider combinations demonstrate their control and precision in the main arena. Spectators can experience the adrenaline pumping exhilaration of cross country day on Saturday when the horses and their pilots take to the undulating grounds at high speed and tackle a series of imposing solid fences. The main arena plays host to the concluding show jumping battle on Sunday when the winner of the Land Rover Trophy and substantial first prize is decided.
