Drouhin Vaudon
About Drouhin Vaudon
In the 1960s, when the Chablis region had largely been abandoned as a home of quality winemaking due to phylloxera, Robert Drouhin took a leap of faith. Consequently, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been a pioneer in the Chablis region for over 50 years, gradually expanding their vineyard holdings to 38 hectares.
Robert’s foresight meant that he was able to accrue some of the best vineyards in the area, including parcels of 4 Grand Crus (Vaudésir, Les Clos, Les Preuses and Bougros) and 7 Premier Crus. The wines are incisively expressive of these individual terroirs and the vintage.
Since the end of the 1980’s, under the impetus of Philippe Drouhin, Domaine Drouhin Vaudon adopted biodynamic cultivation, born out of a desire to limit man’s impact on nature, and is now the largest estate in Chablis embracing this method of winemaking.
